About the Grant
Guidelines & Criteria | Review & Funding Process | Important Dates | Application
Campus Activities (CA) and Student Leadership, Involvement & Community Engagement (SLiCE), as part of the Lory Student Center, support a fundamental commitment to eliminate discrimination based on gender, race, national origin, socioeconomic status, age, sexual orientation or different abilities, in all aspects of the Student Center's operation. To fulfill this commitment, active participation and input by the entire University community - students, faculty and staff - in developing programs, facilities, and services which celebrate the diversity is essential.
In an effort to establish a multicultural environment within the Lory Student Center, Campus Activities, SLiCE and the Lory Center Governing Board collaborate to administer the LSC Diversity Grant through a funding committee, which consists of students from the Lory Center Governing Board, SLiCE and Campus Activities, and the general student body. Rent generated through the Flea Market spaces in the Lory Student Center funds the Grants for Diverse Programming; all organizations and vendors utilizing Flea Market space pay a rental fee (if there is expected revenue).
These grants are designed to support programs that:
- Enhance the educational and cultural aspects of the university community and
- Raise the awareness of differing perspectives.
