It’s Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday Rams!
*Warning, this blog may cause intense cravings for high-quality food and great atmosphere*
I went on a little adventure last week.
“Where?” inquired the exuberant crowd.
I went to the Aspen Grille! Just in case you didn’t know, the Aspen Grille is a student-operated restaurant located in the University Club, on the upper level of the student center. Everything I’m about to tell you is legit; I even took one of my best friends as a witness. She tells it like it is. Always.
Rams, we had a fabulous time and left so satisfied we wanted to catch the next bus home and snuggle up in our sports-related fleece blankets for a delightful after-meal nap. Yes, it was that great (take a look at the pictures; you’re impressed right?)
When we arrived, we were greeted by staff and seated right away. The atmosphere was relaxed, quiet, and professional: fine-dining right here in our very own Lory Student Center. While I love the food court, Aspen Grille gave us a pleasant break from the bustling lunch hour happening below.
We were served a Zinfandel marmalade appetizer, which they’ve been serving in the Grille since it first opening 2005. It was light and delicious.
We had a big problem at this point…we couldn’t decide what we wanted! I glared hungrily across the table as my friend said, “I want to get the grilled cheese and soup…no maybe a burger…no maybe something else.”
The predicament is, and if you read the menu you will definitely understand, everything sounds really good. Like, really good. And while we were each (finally) able to decide on the entrees pictured, we both left wanting to go back another time so we could try something else.
And the food we were served only encouraged this desire. I can’t even put into words how my friend reacted to the soup special except a direct quote that I managed to grab between bites: “I will never eat soup from a can ever again.” Her life was changed, Rams.
There are few words that can properly describe our experience, so I encourage you to try it for yourself. The Aspen Grille is open to the public from 11 a.m. -1:15 p.m. If you have a lunch break, take a friend or two and go!
If you skimmed this entire blog, at least read the bulleted list below of reasons you should go:
So check it out! It will be the best decision of your week.
‘til next time!
Yours, Allison
